my lucy > sunset twirls & wishes

Me: "Lucy, what are you wishing for"?
Lucy: "Yiayia and Papouli"

Me: "What are you wishing for Yiayia and Papouli"?
Lucy: "I'm wishing for them to stay pretty because they are old.  I don't want the garbage man to take them away"....

May this wish come true. My wish is that they will live forever.
Happy Birthday Yiayia (my best friend)

I never thought making a trip out to buy star wars toys for daddy could lead to Lucy opening the Disney store with her magical powers!

my lucy > dresses over pj's

We are officially in the dress up phase.  I'm surprised it took this long....  You may be seeing lots more of dresses over pj's.  This 'dress up' also includes lots of baby powder while alone in her room, as well as Vaseline over her entire face, oh and baby butt cream slathered on her skin.  She says it makes her Beautiful!  I have a couple people in mind I can blame for this thought process!

If only you saw how much Vaseline covered her face! Bahaha!!!!!

move me > a nostalgic starry night

We did a free trial "Discover Dance" at the Valley Dance Theatre this week.  I'm trying to decide what would be best for Lucy at this age (based on what's offered at 2.5 yrs).  It's close between gymnastics and dance.  Here is a cute clip of a short 'free dance' the kids did with the pom poms making the sound of rain.  I thought Lucy expressed herself oh so eloquently :)  With the Beauty of the Song chosen, I had to post.  It put me in a slight trance - kind of like being inside of a nostalgic home video at that exact moment.  This is the type of song I hear in my head...a perfect fit in the soundtrack of my life, or maybe my Lucy's...

[Side Note: If anyone has heard this song before please let me know from where...a movie soundtrack?  a wedding?  I feel like I've heard it before and it's driving me mad.  Maybe that's why I feel the nostalgia.  All I have found is that it is on "Baby Genius - Starry Night"....I know that's not where I heard it from...]

Thank Miss Kristin for opening the door to something new ~ xo ~ lucy.

my lucy > first day of gymnastics

She became crazed when she discovered where we were headed.  Yet through all that happiness, she was completely confused that I wasn't wearing my leotard as well.  Maybe next week....

[after it all] I can say it was a success! Lucy is my wonder woman :)

Congratulations Nat & Julia!

my lucy > my not-so scarey bird

me: "Lucy what do you want to be for Halloween"?

lucy: "a bird."

me: "What about a Bird Doctor"??!! (Thinking she's been so into her doctor kit - also, let's shake things up at least a little here)...

lucy: "noo...just... a bird".

me: "ok".

my lucy > 100th Post!

Today is our 100th post.  Just doing this simple blog is much more work than I expected.  Following through with this has given me something to be oh so proud of.  I have been able to share my favorite moments with my lucy, outings we take, Reasons I am thankful for the things we currently have, songs I am into (some of which that sound through the house, and others that play the music that I cannot express through words), and projects I think are sharable..... We are so happy to share this with our family and friends.  For those that do view this often, we are happy to know that Lucy's smiling face keeps you coming back.  Yes we are doing this for us, but it is more for you.  Hoping in time, I learn more of the blogging world - but for now, Lucy's smiling face will have to do :)

Love,
louloubell & lucy

my lucy > tongue tied

Once everyone left and our crazy July came to an end, we planned to get Lucy's tongue tied taken care of.  Her tongue was pretty much tied down to the bottom of her mouth.  We went in to our Third doctor for another opinion of how we should take care of this, and he did just that.  He took care of it with one look and a single snip.  He said Lucy will be in pain for the next few days.... Really, I think it was a matter of minutes.  Of course she cried...then as we were leaving, with blood drooling out of her mouth, the laughter and smiles begun.  This is our trip to get a new car seat afterwards..... What a ham!
